heard about pageantry in the middle of freshman year through social media
was interested because it was something I never tried before
wanted to try something new and niche to expand my talents and get over my fear of failure
applied and got in through selective application and interview process
competing in National American Miss and Oregon Rose this summer!

My Platform
A pageant platform is a specific social cause, charity, or community issue that a contestant advocates for and promotes during her competition and subsequent reign. It gives titleholders a tangible purpose beyond just wearing a crown and sash.
My platform focuses on spreading literacy. Through my involvement with the Teen Library Council, Digital Doodlers coding literacy nonprofit, the Hurtado Center for non-native English speaking immigrants, and my book-writing passion, and as debate team captain, I empower people of all ages and backgrounds to seek knowledge to become more contributional members of society. This is a cause I am extremely passionate about as an immigrant who comes from a family and culture that values education for all.
